Contacts can be subscribed to your Email Sequence with the power of Automations or by manually adding contacts to your sequence.
An Email Sequence is an email or a sequence of multiple emails that can be set to send automatically to subscribers after an action has been completed, like filling out a form, purchasing an offer, completing a product, etc. Learn more about email campaigns. With Automations, your contacts can subscribe to your Email Sequences by performing an action (e.g., form submission, offer purchase, event registration). Setting up a subscribe trigger for your Email Sequence is the most common way to subscribe to an Email Sequence on Kajabi. However, as an admin of your site, you may wish to manually subscribe existing contacts from your contacts tab to your Email Sequence. This can be accomplished by performing a bulk action from your contacts tab to easily subscribe multiple contacts to your Email Sequence. Learn to create an Email Sequence.
Note: Unsubscribing a contact from an Email Sequence will remove the contact from the specific Email Sequence, not your general mailing list. If your contact remains subscribed in your Contacts tab, you will still have the ability to send email campaigns to their email address. If your contact resubscribes to the Email Sequence, they will not receive any emails from the sequence.

Automated subscribe

On Kajabi, Automations can be used to translate an action into a subscription to your email campaign. In order to begin sending emails from your Email Sequence, an automation is required to include an Add Trigger that will subscribe contacts to your Email Sequence. Learn about Automations. The subscribe trigger is an action specified to trigger a specific response. For Email Sequences, an add trigger is used to subscribe a contact to the Email Sequence after the specified action occurs. For example, you can set your subscribe trigger to subscribe contacts to your Email Sequence when an “Offer is purchased”.

  1. Open the Email Sequence editor by selecting the Email Sequence you wish to edit.
  2. Select Subscribe Trigger.
  3. Click Add Trigger to create your Email Sequence subscribe trigger.
In this example, when a contact purchases the specified offer they will be subscribed to the Email Sequence:
Similarly, with Automations, you can unsubscribe a contact from an Email Sequence after a specified action. Use the Unsubscribe Trigger to automatically unsubscribe a contact from the Email Sequence after your specified action has occurred. For example, you can select “if a Contact has been inactive for 30 days” to automatically unsubscribe inactive contacts from your sequence.

Manually subscribe contacts to a specific Email Sequence

  1. Open the Contacts tab from the Dashboard.
  2. Select the names of the contacts you wish to subscribe.
  3. Click Bulk Actions.
  4. Select Subscribe to Email Sequence.
  5. Select the Email Sequence you wish to subscribe your contacts to when prompted.
  6. Click Submit.
Note: If you have selected contacts that have not subscribed to receive your marketing emails, they cannot be manually subscribed to your Email Sequence. Use Automations or a Form to allow your contacts to subscribe to your marketing emails.
