Overview

You don’t need to manually configure the zip code or postal ID field on your checkout pages. The field automatically changes based on the card type and issuing country detected from the customer’s payment information. When a customer enters their card details, the checkout system identifies the card’s country of origin and adjusts the postal code field accordingly:
  • United States: Displays as “Zip Code” and accepts 5-digit or 9-digit ZIP codes
  • Canada: Displays as “Postal Code” and accepts Canadian postal code format
  • United Kingdom: Displays as “Postcode” and accepts UK postcode format
  • Other countries: Adapts to the appropriate format for the detected region
This automatic adjustment ensures customers see familiar terminology and formatting for their location, reducing confusion and checkout friction.
