Failed payments processed through PayPal must be monitored directly through PayPal. Unlike Stripe, PayPal payment failures won’t appear in your Kajabi dashboard. This guide shows you how to locate and manage failed payments in your PayPal account.

For payments processed with PayPal, you will need to monitor your payments through PayPal. If a payment fails with PayPal, you will not be able to see the failure in Kajabi. Any upcoming payments will have the status as “Upcoming,” and the overall subscription status will remain as “Active.”

PayPal retries

If a payment fails, PayPal attempts to retry the payment every 5 days up to twice per billing cycle. However, if the second retry fails, PayPal counts it as a payment failure, and the failed payment amount will be added to the outstanding balance for the next billing cycle.

  • Log into your PayPal account
  • Navigate to the Home tab of your PayPal account
  • Click Recurring Payments under “Quick Links”
  • Navigate to your list of payments
  • Filter by Outstanding Payments
You can click on individual customers for more information about their outstanding payment(s).
